December 10th, 2014: As part of the Steeped in History series, Loretto Abbey students met with Sisters for first time for introductions and an afternoon of fun craft activities. Students will continue to meet with their sisters.
December 9th, 2014: Following their excursion to the United Nations, students from Loretto Abbey, Mary Ward and Bishop Allen came together to reflect on their experiences and discuss ways they might bring awareness of the work and goals of the UN to their schools and local communities.
December 8th, 2014: Nationally renowned native woman leader and Project Director for the Canadian Women’s Foundation,Diane Redsky, discussed the 34 recommendations of the National Task Force on Sex Trafficking of Women and Girls in Canada as well as The Canadian Women’s Foundation five-year Strategic Plan.
November 25th, 2014: Staff, friends and members of the Loretto community gathered for a celebration and blessing of the newly renovated Mary Ward Room.
Pan Am Gift Box October 3oth, 2014:The Faith Alliance to End Human Trafficking officially introduced and launched its plans to build a UN GIFT box as an interfaith response to human trafficking. The GIFT box will be shown throughout the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games in Toronto.

UN Excursion October 7th-11th, 2014:Once again, the Sisters sponsored a youth-focused excursion to New
York to study the role of the United Nations and to participate in a
three-day workshop focused on the mandate of the UN and Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs). Topics also included human trafficking and our ecological crisis,
June 4th, 2014: Sisters of St. Joseph and the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Loretto Sisters, met an an ongoing basis with 25 Grade 12 students to view and discuss projects showing how the students would interpret selfless unconditional love and its relevance in their daily lives.
May 20th-23rd, 2014: Over 30 participants attended this three-day conference with Sister Caroljean Willie SC, as the central presenter, concentrating on themes related to: Vision, Ethics & Actions a Sustainable and Peaceful World. The conference included presentation from Stephen Sharper and the Jesuit Forum for Social Faith & Justice.
March 20th, 2014: Students from Loretto Abbey, SHSM (Specialist High School Major Non-Profit) TCDSB attended an Ethical Considerations Certificate Program. Students were challenged to consider and examine both local and global injustices in our world.
February 18th, 2014: Student Chaplaincy leaders came together for a day of prayer, reflection, team building and visioning. Learning about the charism of Mary Ward and how her wisdom continues to shape strong women leaders today was a central focus of the day.
January 26th, 2014: Mary Ward Buddies and the Loretto College community attended a celebration of Mary Ward's birthday filled with prayer and companionship. The Mary Ward Buddies celebrated and reflected on their random acts of kindness performed in honour of the spirit of Mary Ward during the week.
