Our Work on The Prevention of Human Trafficking

Welcome To The Human Trafficking Awareness Page !

Learn more about our human trafficking prevention work from program coordinator Eva Rodriguez-Diaz.
"The chains are too tight, loosen them up a bit please!"
-
Saint Josephine Bakhita's words in the last hours of her life, apparently remembering her slavery.

"The chains are very tight...", is the cry of thousands of people who to this day suffer the tragedy of slavery through human trafficking, whether as labour exploitation, sex trafficking, begging, organ trafficking, child marriage or any other modality that exposes people to forced work and deprives them of their dignity, rights and freedom of decision.

"...loosen them up a bit, please!" This cry represents a challenge for us today. We are all called to act to end human trafficking and bring healing to survivors.

End human trafficking!

-a commitment for all-

Human Trafficking Prevention Awareness

The Mary Ward Centre is committed to ending human trafficking in Canada. Part of this commitment consists of raising awareness about the problem of human trafficking in
Canada, which largely remains hidden. Learn more about the prevalence of human trafficking
through our awareness campaign.
