Advocacy in Canada

In Canada, our advocacy efforts focus on building the capacity of youth for political participation. We create opportunities for youth to dialogue with federal decision-makers. We advocate for the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Our Mission

Read our policy briefs on the SDGs and children and youth in Canada. To date, we have produced briefs on poverty, food security, climate change, and partnerships.

In collaboration with partners, we provide capacity building opportunities (webinars, in-person events, and advocacy projects) for youth to become more politically active and to practice their advocacy skills.

National Child Day, celebrated annually on November 20, commemorates the United Nations' adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the  Convention on the Rights of Child in 1989. We offer educational and spiritual resources to help individuals and organizations promote and celebrate the rights of children. See our Resources page for free downloadable materials.
