The UN Sustainable Development Goals framework was built on the commitment to leave no one behind. Canada signed onto the UN SDG Agenda, committing to reach all 17 SDGs by 2030. Our Ministries joint report: No One Left Behind? An intersectional analysis of the 2030 Agenda in Canada demonstrated that youth and migrant workers are among other vulnerable populations, and the government is falling behind on that commitment.
In July 2023, the Canadian government presented a Voluntary National Review at the UN in New York on its implementation of the SDGs. A team from our Ministries, joined by Brantella Williams, a young woman activist who has been advocating for youth rights, and Gabriel Allahdua, a former migrant worker and activist with extensive experience in advocating for migrant workers' rights, went to the UN in New York to share the report findings with the Canadian government.
Join Brantella and our Ministries team at this online gathering to hear about our youth advocacy work on the SDGs at the UN and national levels.
