The Mary Ward Centre and the Loretto College Women's Residence invites youth aged 18 to 29 years to participate in an exciting advocacy initiative on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Canadian government will present a report on its progress achieving the SDGs this summer at the UN. They need to hear from young people! To help make this happen, a number of faith-based organizations are coming together to write a parallel report to give an 'on the ground' perspective of SDG progress, especially on the theme of recovery from the covid-19 pandemic and decent work/employment. Youth will bear the brunt of any failures to achieve the SDGs and have a right to participate in the review process.

Open Warming Centres Now
Toronto’s shelter system is overcapacity (168 people needing a shelter bed

are turned away every single day). The emergency warming centres only
open during extreme cold temperatures of -15 degrees or colder. Join the Stone Soup Network as we tell the mayor and city councillors that we need to take measures to prevent injuries and death. Help us get to 16800 signatures this week  so that 168 people needing
shelter tonight will be safe.
Send an email to the mayor and councillors by going to: https://stonesoupnetwork.ca/openwarmingcentres/
