We developed a campaign to prevent human trafficking among St. Michael’s College Students. It was a complete month informing about the risks of human trafficking in Canada from the perspectives of sexual and labour trafficking and exploitation and four weeks spreading information on the reality of human trafficking inside Canada and the strategies that criminals use to engage victims.
Fifteen boards were available to spread our message; we created five information packages. We started creating expectations with a pamphlet with a red number (3,996), and 45 of them were posted on 15 boards. After three days, we posted a pamphlet explaining that 3,996 are victims of human trafficking in Canada; however, only 1 in every 4 cases is denounced.
Every week, we added new information using new pamphlets and a banner we posed strategically with high student traffic. Over two hundred flyers were posted in October at St. Michael College about this uncomfortable reality. End human trafficking -a commitment of all-.
