In October, five of the eight workshops in the series Latin Women: Empowered and Free of Economic Violence were held. Economical violence in private, public and work spaces were part of the topics all focused on migrant women. We finished the month with a workshop listening to three speakers from Latin America, talking about their experiences: (1) A human resources expert who carries out staff selection in large companies in Canada and the US, providing information on the standards for preparing a CV, a cover letter, job search strategies and how to do it safely, avoiding being a victim of scammers and exploiters;. (2) An expert in creating a self-image, according to the profession and job that each person seeks, and (3) A woman who created her own company in Canada, learning about her experience and requirements, challenges, and successes, etc.
