Interfaith Youth Forum 2025

On Feb 25th, sixty students from TCDSB schools, Madonna and St. Patrick’s, as well as YCDSB Sacred Heart High School gathered at the Mary Ward Centre for the World Interfaith Harmony Week youth forum.

They explored how music expressed teachings on “love of neighbour” from diverse artists: Susan HooKong-Taylor(Catholic), Eli Green (Jewish), and Harpreet Kaur Neelam (Sikh).  Artists, Shireen Dallah (Muslim) and Avani Pandya (Hindu) also shared their talent in spoken word and singing, respectively.  

As a follow up to the event, we look forward to seeing how students will share their learning and take action to express “love of neighbour” on a social justice issue.  We are grateful to collaborators and sponsors for making this event possible: The Archdiocese of Toronto Office for Interreligious Dialogue, the Sisters of St. Joseph Toronto, and the Toronto Catholic District School Board Nurturing Our Catholic Community team.
