My time at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum was incredible! I had
the privilege of personally representing the Mary Ward Center and our gender
equality research when meeting with Ambassador Bob Rae. Similarly, I was able
to connect with a range of individuals, from diplomats to NGO advocates.

Each person I encountered brought unique perspectives and solutions into discussions
of pressing global issues. One of my key takeaways is that achieving gender
equality requires systemic change. In a Canadian context, policy reforms should
prioritize education, ensuring inclusion and the belief that both genders are equal
are reinforced from the earliest stages. Overall, it was amazing to feel a part of a
shared responsibility and commitment to advancing justice on a global scale. My
experience at the United Nations deepened my comprehension of international
efforts and reminded me that meaningful change starts with listening, working
together, and acting. I am incredibly grateful to the Mary Ward Center for allowing
me to contribute to meaningful work and witness global efforts underway.
