Approximately 120 youth and adults gathered to celebrate Earth Day (April 22nd) exploring our relationship to land through storytelling from speakers of diverse spiritual traditions.

Youth joined primarily from Catholic and Muslim schools: Nile Academy, Madinatul Uloom Academy, St. Patrick CSS, Madonna CSS, St. Joseph College CSS, Loretto College, and Sacred Heart CHS from York CDSB.

The Toronto Catholic District School Board Indigenous Education Department co-hosted the event with the Mary Ward Centre, Intercultural Dialogue Institute, Sisters of St. Joseph Toronto, Green Ummah, and the support of Shoresh.

We thank our Guest Panel Speakers and/or Workshop Facilitators: Elder Wendy Phillips (Chief and Ceremonial Leader; Member of Bald Eagle Clan), Imam Hosam Helal (ISNA Mosque), Rabbi Aaron Rotenberg (Congregation Darchei Noam), Rajbalinder Ghatoura (Kudrat Di Rakhia), Sabrina Chiefari (Sisters of St. Joseph, Toronto), Jason Donio (TCDSB), and Zunaid Khan (Green Ummah).
