International Day of Education, Jan 24, 2026 | United Nations Education is not just about knowledge — it is about awakening conscience, dignity, and responsibility.

On this International Day of Education, proclaimed by the United Nations, we reaffirm that it is one of the most powerful tools to prevent injustice and protect human dignity.

During Reading Week 2026, four inspiring University of Toronto student volunteers — Skyler, Ishita, Solbi & Jina — took initiative and asked their peers a critical question:

“What do University of Toronto students know about human trafficking?”

Their conversations reveal something important: that education is essential.

Moments like these remind us that meaningful change often begins with a simple question and the willingness to listen.

We are grateful to these remarkable student leaders for using their voices to spark awareness and inspire change.
